ABSTRACT
A nonsquare system whose number of input and output differs have a problem that a unique set of the input values for a controlled variable cannot be decided. The purpose of this study is the proposition of a method of designing the optimal tracking system for such a system. For solving this problem, a method has been proposed which adjusts the response characteristic of a system using the evaluation function which consists of the control error and the input deviation. However, this method dose not consider the reduction of the steady state values of inputs, so it is difficult to apply this method for actual systems with restriction on the steady state value of inputs. On the other hand, there is a method which determines the feedforward gain for minimization of the steady state values of inputs. However, it dose not consider the tracking performance of a control system. Therefore, we combine the two above-mentioned designing methods, and propose a method of the designing the optimal control system which is adjustable the tracking performance and the steady state values of inputs for a nonsquare system.
