ABSTRACT
The EEG interpretation, no matter visual inspection or computer-assisted interpretation system, requires appropriate segments from long-term EEG records, which may be changeable according to the subject's state during the procedure and be contaminated with various artifacts. Thus the development of EEG recording system, which can be an assistant tool to the technician to acquire qualified EEG record, is important and necessary. In this study, a method is proposed to detect several artifacts, including blink, EMG, horizontal eye movement, as well as ear-lobe reference electrode artifact, and evaluate the EEG records by dominant rhythm, including calculation of organization and alpha wave parameters.
