ABSTRACT
Spring thermal energy conversion (STEC) is a system that converts heat energy into electricity by using the temperature difference between sping water and sea/river water. Turbine inlet pressure in STEC plant is one of the important controlled variables which stabilize the output of the generated electricity power. Since STEC is a highly nonlinear system and it is very difficult to build a suitable mathmatical model for process control, the model free control method is preferred in the STEC control system. In this paper, a new control method of model free control based on gradient estimation is proposed. The application results of the proposed method in the STEC turbine inlet pressure control have verified its feasibility and effectiveness.
