ABSTRACT
Detection of smoke and temperature in space was tried by a pair of single ultrasonic sensors under the density change of space by smoke and the temperature dependency of sound speed.
In this experiment these ultrasonic sensors (Fuji ceramics. FUS200A) are arranged on face each other in a pillar with a length of 0.3m and a diameter of 0.08m.
A pipe is perpendicularly set near a center of the pillar in order to fill the smoke in it.
Optical sensors are put near the ultrasonic sensors for the quantification of smoke.
The experiment in changing smoke and temperature was done with the constant humidity of 50% using the ultrasonic sensors with two kinds of frequencies of 200kHz and 40kHz.
In the result of the experiment, the possibility of measurement of smoke and temperature by a pair of single ultrasonic sensor was shown in the conditions of two kinds of measurements based on a multi-functional sensing technique.
