ABSTRACT
This paper elucidates that the split spectrum proposed by Ikeda et al. is uniquely determined reflecting the transmission characteristics from a sound source to a microphone. Based on the fact, we propose a new method for solving the permutation problem inherent to the independent component analysis (ICA) by utilizing the relative positional information of the target sound source to microphones. The proposed method can also solve the channel selection problem which is critical in the practical application of ICA where the target sound must be exclusively extracted without noise.
