Development of a remote control type small robot

ABSTRACT
Small robot systems for robot soccer game is now developed by world
wide RoboCup reseachers.
Since there are some rules about size's restriction, it is difficult
to make up robot system equipped with a high-performance computer
and a radio equipment for remote control.
So, commands for complicated processing is restricted and
interference of radio is also occured in these robot system.
In this article, structure of a new soccer robot with small size
linux server, wireless LAN and all directional moving mechanism is
described.
Our robot systems have embedded linux system for complex robot
control and communicate each other by using stable radio system.
In driving part of our robot, three omni wheels are used for all
directional high-speed locomotion.
Dribbling and kicking devices are equipped for soccer game with three
ball finding sensors.
